(JP2016117057) PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a dehydrogenation catalyst comprising an iron oxide, an alkali metal or compound thereof, silver and silver ferrite; and to provide a method for producing the same.SOLUTION: A dehydrogenation catalyst is prepared by: preparing a mixture of an iron oxide, an alkali metal or compound thereof, and silver or a compound thereof; and then calcining the mixture, wherein the silver or compound thereof is present in an amount of from at least about 0.01 millimole of silver per mole of iron oxide, calculated as FeO.  Preferably the alkali metal is potassium or cerium, and more preferably is calcium or molybdenum.EFFECT: The dehydrogenation catalyst shows high activity and/or high selectivity to hydrogenation reaction of hydrocarbons.SELECTED DRAWING: None
