(US10576519) This present invention relates to compositions and methods of microbial enhanced oil recovery using Bacillus subtilis strains. The invention also relates to compositions and methods for performing oil degradation with Bacillus subtilis strains. The compositions and methods of the present invention are also used for enhanced commercial biosurfactant and enzyme production.

(US10576519) What is claimed: 1. A method for enhancing the amount of oil recoverable from an oil-containing formation, wherein said method comprises applying a composition comprising Bacillus subtilis strain B1 having accession number PTA-123459 to the oil-containing formation. 2. The method of claim 1, wherein the microbe is in the vegetative state. 3. The method of claim 1, which further comprises administering one or more other microorganisms. 4. The method of claim 3, wherein the one or more other microorganisms are selected from Bacillus, Geobacillus, Candida, Starmerella, Yarrowia, Pseudomonas, Nocardioides, Rhodococcus, Arthrobacter and Acinetobacter.
