Polyethylenes (PEs) are the most industrially produced polymers. Low density polyethylene (~20 % PE) is produced by free radical polymerization under severe conditions (P > 1000 bars and T > 200°C). In 2010 we reported that it is still possible to innovate in free radical polymerization of ethylene.[1] By an appropriate choice of polymerization organic solvent (in particular the use of polar solvent such as THF or carbonates) we demonstrated the feasibility of the polymerization of ethylene under slurry conditions at
