摘要
According to the company's 2019 Statistical Review of World Energy, proven global reserves of nearly 1.73 trillion bbl are equivalent to around 50 years of supply at the current worldwide demand rate.Venezuela still has the world's largest proven reserve at 303.OB bbl,but Saudi Arabia is much closer now with a 297.7B-bbl reserve-12% higher than the estimate in last year's Statistical Review. The last time there was a large shift in die country's estimated oil reserves was the unexplained increase from 170B bbl in 1988 to 260B bbl in 1989.Reasons for the big boost this year include greater transparency on the part of the Kingdom as Saudi Aramco prepares for its long-anticipated IPO as well as its separation of NGLs from NG in its reserves reporting.NGLs had been reported as gas reserves, but BP now includes them in the oil total.Saudi Arabia's gas reserves, therefore, declined by nearly 27% to 208.1 trillion cf(5.9 trillion m~3).Behind Venezuela and Saudi Arabia,Canada has the world's third-largest reserve of 168B bbl,Iran has the fourth with 156B bbl,and Iraq has the fifth with 147B bbl,as reported in BP's Statistical Review.
