(IN201831007121) A method for preparing hydroxyapatite (HAP) with egg shell taken as raw material comprising the steps of cleaning the egg shells thoroughly with water followed by boiling with water for 30 minutes; drying the egg shells followed by crushing and powdering; calcining the powdered egg shell at 950 degCel and transforming the egg shell powder to calcium oxide; treating calcium oxide with concentrated nitric acid to form calcium nitrate followed by dilution with distilled water; adding to the calcium nitrate a (0.10M), Na2HP04.12H2O in ammonia solution with continuous stirring; collecting the gelatinous precipitated of HAP through a filter paper and washing the same with plenty of distilled water; and drying the said filtered HAP precipitate to remove any trace of water and then crushed to achieve fine powder.

A method for preparing hydroxyapatite (HAP) with egg shell taken as raw material comprising the steps of :- Cleaning the egg shells thoroughly with water followed by boiling with water for 30 minutes;   Drying the egg shells followed by crushing and powdering;   Calcining the powdered egg shell at 950 deg Cel and transforming the egg shell powder to calcium oxide;   Treating calcium oxide with concentrated nitric acid to form calcium nitrate followed by dilution with distilled water;   Adding to the calcium nitrate a (0.10M], Na2HPO4-12H2O in ammonia solution with continuous stirring;   Collecting the gelatinous precipitated of HAP through a filter paper and washing the same with plenty of distilled water;  and drying the said filtered HAP precipitate to remove any trace of water and then crushed to achieve fine powder. 2. A method for preparing hydroxyapatite (HAP) as claimed in claim 1, wherein the crushing and powdering of egg shells is carried out using an agate mortar. 3. A method for preparing hydroxyapatite (HAP) as claimed in claim 1, wherein the calcinations of egg shell powder is carried out at 950 Deg Cel. 4. A method for preparing hydroxyapatite (HAP) as claimed in claim 1, wherein the egg shells are transformed into calcium oxide by evolving carbon dioxide and then converted to calcium nitrate [Ca(NO3)2]. 5. A method for preparing hydroxyapatite (HAP) as claimed in claim 1, wherein 0.10 M Na2HP04.12H20 in ammonia solution have a pH =- 10.0. 6. A method for preparing hydroxyapatite (HAP) as claimed in claim 5, wherein the addition of the said solution is carried out dropwise. 7. A method for preparing hydroxyapatite (HAP) as claimed in claim 1, wherein the filtration is carried out by passing the precipitate through Buchner funnel. 8. A method for preparing hydroxyapatite (HAP) as claimed in claim 1, wherein the drying is carried out in an oven. 9. The hydroxyapatite (HAP) composition manufactured using the method as claimed in any of the preceding claims. 10. A method for preparing bone paste using the hydroxyapatite (HAP) composition as claimed in claim 1, comprising the steps of Combining of polysorbate 80 (Tween 80) and gelatin with hydroxyapatite (HAP) powder;  Preparing 2% w/v gelatin gel and mixed with 2ml of liquid polysorbate 80 followed by mixing it gently for uniform mixing;  Placing the obtained solution in a mortar containing 5gm of HAP Powder and making a homogeneous paste by stirring with pestle for 15-20 minutes;  and incubating the said pestle at 370C to measure the setting time.
