(JP5459764) PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an insect repellent composition which is high in a repelling effect, is good in sprayability, is good in spreadability and a sense of use, when used for human bodies, and is high in the sustainability of the repelling effect, and to provide an insect repellent using the same and filled in a spray can.  SOLUTION: The insect repellent composition comprises the following ingredients (A), (B), and (C): (A) Cellulose fibers which have a number-average fiber diameter of 2 to 150 nm, whose cellulose has a cellulose I type crystal structure, wherein the C6-hydroxyl groups of glucose units in the cellulose molecule are selectively oxidized into aldehyde groups and carboxyl groups, and which has a carboxyl group content of 0.6 to 2.0 mmol/g; (B) an insect-repelling ingredient; and (C) water.
